Just been out for a quick walk in the heaviest snow for a long time! Took this pics too. Pretty much all the snow had gone from the roads until the last hour or so...

looks like the snow will shortly become light from the west looking on the radar?

Yeah like others have said, don't trust the radar, its a bit iffy. I'd say snow is heavier to the west than shown

Well well well

2hrs of snow and just under 5"

This is an amazing snowfall tonight and will be remembered for the amount fallen in such a short time

Still don't know how to put photo's on here though!

Bah, its just turned to rain here literally as soon as the heaviest echo hit!

Currently 0.1C with a dewpoint of -0.6C, so an inversion for sure.

Everyone has had issues with the heavier echo, seems to be ice pellets everywhere it goes then goes back to really heavy snow!!!!

That makes three of us from Crookes. On gardens and side road pavements I reckon we've got well over 7inches now

Will have to pop out in a second! For the Sheffield folk, see this >

Had to abandon the car in Sheffield and walk half a mile with our 3 little girls including my 3 year old. The car just would move not move up the slight hill. Audi's are terrible in the snow.

Ill tell you this is the worst snow since 2010. It's about 8-9 inches deep and still powering down.

Yes, on closer inspection it appears to be a mixture of ice pellets with a few flakes of snow mixed in. Hope it clears quickly.

Don't let the radar kid ya, there is plenty of snow still to come and I believe that light patch near the irish sea is actually quite heavy! (probably where the front currently is)

Heavier echo is just about to hit here. Still snowing heavily here now but the wind has died a lot now and it is falling straight down.

Let's see if the heavier echo brings the snow pellets/frozen rain mix everyone else is talking about. I hope not!

the heavy patch over south yorks seems to have dumped a really large amount in so little time. Here ive had heavy but smallish flakes since it started and have 9cm.

Yep, we had that here too, didn't last long before it instantly changed to seriously heavy snow and the wind dropped with it.
