This is now creating immense blizard conditions! Visibility down to virtually nothing!!!!

Just shows what a difference a few miles makes, its still ice pellets here at the moment.

Im shocked at how much here, it looks same has 2010 easily and still coming, never envasaged this!

Steady on, Sheffield's got about 7inches at the mo - in 2010 Sheffield got 17 inches! And it was followed by severe cold. This is not in the same league - still good though.

Must admit, this event is an awesome way to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the Yorkshire Snow Fest of 25/01/95 where Leeds got 40cm.

Not much more to come judging by the radar, but about 9cm on grassy surfaces and 6cm on concrete- about twice the largest depths here earlier in this cold spell, and dropping to -0.4C at present so good signs re. the milder air catching up with the precipitation. The cold spell was rather disappointing in terms of snow depths here but has certainly gone out with a bang!

Very heavy snow up here S.B. You should get back up here more often...blum.gif

I visited my parents earlier and measured 16cm (possibly some melt since Monday) so if it can get over 23cm it will become the second most productive cold spell on record.

Some pictures, 11cm's

Thats roughly the same as here, 4-5inch of fresh snow and still coming down. Some are reporting up to 10inch which is hard to believe, considering

its from the same front passing over us all in a smallish region.

The temperature is still rising here, now up to 0.7C with a dewpoint of -0.1C, but at least the ice pellets are being gradually replaced by snow again.

Are you in Hedon Reef? It's been constant snow here, honest I'm only a couple of miles from you in Bilton Grange, massive flakes aswell!
