Sticking here only very light stuff though.

Next week looks interesting too, a good chance of being hit by some strong winds for at least a couple of days, batten down the hatches and all that.

dry here in haydock but I feel this will be a sleet event rather than anything amazing. I only remember one cold to mild event that resulted in lots of snow here, I am sure there have been more tho.

Rather it was raining and wet tbh instead of this light snow that isn't settling.

Later ppn band taking a more NE track - looks like it will miss the region altogether.

Ian

BBC Forecast this morning showed light precipitation in Cumbria this morning followed by the main band at about 1-2pm for the rest of the North West, nothing to worry about yet.

Depends on it's track S wind having a say moving ppn NE

Sums up this spell of weather nicely if it does miss us.

So that massive blob of precipitation that was all set to swamp the entire country for 12 hours is going to just slip past? I find that hard to fathom.

0.2C.

Still snowing and sticking on everything.

We've still got snow left in trees from days ago.

Guys, the main event is coming from Ireland - don't panic!

The band that is starting to affect us now is just the introduction.

The latest NAE is still bringing it over our region this evening with some really heavy falls!

Showing sleet on Fylde coast. If this isn't rain will the main band be snow if it hits at all?

Massive "blob" or not - have a look at the radar second band although more intense is fragmented is a more NE flow.

....at the moment.

Just remember that the main band must make it's way over the Irish Sea. It will intensify as it does so.
