CWT2012 where do you get your predictions from?

The intensity of the precip and the speed in which the front moves

Can easily see the Peak District, Dales, Moors etc getting 2ft of lying snow from this before the thaw

In Uxbridge?

Uxbridge looks to be in the yellow zone as far as I can see.

There are some showers forming ahead of the front, could reach the London area in 30-45 mins if it keeps going.

on my iPhone the app says amber I can assure u . Rain is yellow and so is ice but the snow symbol is amber but when I swipe to look at it the amber is above ! Only saying what my app says Edited by snowlady36

My prediction:

Watford north 5cm before the thaw

London centre south - at best a sleaty mess with some parts getting the odd cm or 2.

And there is 0% chance that 2-3ft is going to fall up north, just silly to say that, 15-20CM Birmingham north with perhaps some hilly areas receiving around 30CM locally. Can't actually look at the charts right now as I'm on mobile but hope people don't get there hopes up for lying snow in our region. (Central/south)

Mad to think there is a 10 degree difference in temperature, between our region and the South West region at the moment.

the met office website five day does the same. it's automated and i think must be some sort of software bug. and the apps are probably fed info from that five day page.

i'm guessing...

Try this site, it has loads of different weather station readings:

http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/home

(It isn't the normal MetOffice site, it is a weather observation website.)

Temperature has plummeted. Working from home today so I thought it would be possible to go for a run (too dark and slippy the last few evenings) and any health benefits I got from my jogging were outweighed by the hypothermia! cold.gifcold.gifcold.gif
