Moderate/heavy snow at present. Judging by the radar this could last an hour or two, though whether it stays as snow for the duration remains to be seen.

Still heavy snow here, has stopped doing the bigger than 50p flakes as Cobby reported, but its still very heavy and coming down fast. Guessing from the radar we still got another hour of this, maybe hour and half.

Heavy snow in Leeds centre at 30m asl, started of as rain but quickly turned to snow.

Cant see anymore than a few hours of wet snow that doesnt lay.

Yeah I had a drive up towards Penistone and the snow line appears to be around 150m ish. Very sleety now in Darton.

Afternoon all,

Been snowing moderately hard here for over half an hour.

My dog walk saw large flakes, between 20p and 50p piece size.

Turned fine flakes now.

The merest hint of beginning to settle.

Temp. 2C.

Going to turn back to rain soon I understand.

B.

Its always been a great snow trap up here, a mate at work lives in Elsecar, on many occasions he's woken up to rain but when he gets to Hoylandswain Hill

it turns to snow. When coming from Huddersfield the Sovereign garage seems to be the usual turning point from rain to snow. I've had many nights in Tarn

where its been raining/sleety, when the taxi gets to the outskirts of Penistone the ground turns white.

0.1C here and still snowing, had a good few inches with full snow cover apart from the cleared main roads. Forecast to turn to rain around tea time.
