Continuous moderate sleet/wet snow in a moderate south easterly.

The ground is far too wet for it to settle though.

Temp is 1.7c.

Not very pleasant at all, roll on spring!

thanks for that input TM, using a mix of web cams, reports and my ordnance survey soft ware, in the Peak area there is lying snow anywahere from about 750ft at Monsal Head, Foolow at 950 ft and Ringinglow outside Sheffield at 1000ft by the pub. I suspect a patch of slightly warmer air which did seem to show on the 850mb chart from Extra with pulses of colder air edging west and SW in the afternoon and more so during the evening.

Snow line here is now around 275m ( 900 ft ). Your post ties in well with the latest Met' Office warning update which suggests around 10cm of snow for this area later today. A definite pulse of warmer upper air this morning as the temperature rose quite quickly from around 0.3c at 1030 to 1.6c shortly before midday.

All rain here at the moment snow on the final third of Chinley Churn 440m which I can see out of the window, but it looks rather watery

If anything now turning more to rain and the snow is being washed off Chinley Churn

Yes, still raining here and the snow line is now around 340m. Just a patchy cover of slush from about 320m down to 290m and almost nothing below that.

yes the rise in elevation for snow should start to begin to stop increasing in the next couple of hours and then a very slow dip down again. I would prefer to see the 12z output first but I would suggest down to 250m during this evening and possibly lower by midnight?

300m seems to be the cusp of sleet and wet snow here at the moment; sudden bursts of pure wet snow followed by short spells of sleet. Unfortunately I don't know what the temperature is as I'm at work.
