snow has really picked up here again, nothing to complain about. Pre 2009 this would have been the highlight of any winter! Another winter wonderland in Hyde Park. It's amazing that last winter we got only 1 day of heavy snow (which was only just about as bad as this)! Ah British weather...

~5cm of snow in Crooks/Broomhill (Sheffield). Main roads not brilliant but traffic still moving, although struggling up some of the steeper roads (e.g. main Crooks road for those that know it).

Brrrr, almost horizontal snow in the strong wind here.

A complete covering now.

Snow still coming down in Sheffield. About 6-7cm on the ground. Light snow with some big fluffy flakes mixed in now.

What a great year for snow its been here - so many individual events.

Main roads tricky and side roads awful with many cars getting stuck. I think the warning level should have been higher.

You know its been a good year for snow when 'normal' people are complainaing that they have had enough of this enough and that it seems to be never ending.

It really has been Sheffield's year!

Thats what i've been thinking, theres been a number of good individual snow events. Just a shame that a good few of them have not lasted long (i.e. decent amounts of snow on the ground).

Quite light snow has given maybe a couple of inches but the drifting is quite something with wind gusting near 40mph at -1C

Gone very light here now. Although today's event has been alright, I'd trade 10 of these for just one good north easterly with frequent convective snow showers :)

Hc it would have to last 2 to 3 wks though with ice days and severe frosts with the ne wind blowing the heavy snow showers right up to the pennines with only glimpses of the sun before the nxt big anvil moves in n pref in Jan!!!!! that asking to much?

Funny despite snowing for a good part of the day and temperatures being close or below zero there isn't much in the way of fresh depth. Will measure in a bit but guess 2cm to 3cm of fresh stuff.

Snowing again here- larger and wetter flakes than before, which suggests that warmer air is pushing in at high altitudes, although it's actually getting colder at the surface (-0.2C now, which backs up others' reports of dropping temperatures).

Just measured 5cm of fresh snow. However it's now the dreaded freezing rain. Thank god I got home.
