Ironically now its turned a little milder the showers are now piling in. Its th wrong side of marginal now though, with a temp of 3.7C and dewpoint of 1.2C. A frustrating spell overall!

Very dull day, could be like this most of this week.

Slightly less cold than recently but still below average.

Skies are reasonably clear over much of Scotland at present:

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html

Thus there's a good chance of some sunnier weather trickling down from the north during tomorrow and Thursday.

Snowdrifts are melting more at 3.3C today because it only got down to 2.4C overnight.

If there's a ground frost overnight the melt is far slower if at all the following day.

Yes, they're hanging on in there, but could be gone by the end of the week.

It's probably more down to the dew points- they're generally above freezing now.

A max of 2.6C today and a min of 2.1C results in one of the smallest diurnal ranges I have ever recorded, possibly the smallest.

Two other things of note..

First month since December 2010 to not go above 10C looks certain

First month with an average low below freezing since Dec 10/Jan 11 looks certain.

I sensed that the sunnier skies would head south during today and tomorrow but didn't expect them to come over as rapidly as they did- I expected today to be transitional and tomorrow to be rather like today has been.

Sunny all day here today and looks like continuing dry and mainly sunny until around the 3rd/4th March- could well be a good weekend coming up for outdoor stuff!

Lovely today and should be good for the next few days.

Also of note is we still look to be waiting a week for precipitation so that's 3 weeks potentially with what i suspect here is less than 5mm.

There must be something wrong with the sensors if it's recording 39.6 degrees C!

Absolutely not, it's really warm out there. cold.gif

Actually, it's not that pleasant, humidity 100%.
