The Rain Today radar tells me it's been snowing here for over half an hour but I've only seen the odd tiny flake! Temp 0, dewpoint -4 - now that's more like it! :-)

The very low dew points are evident thats why the snow is so dry, mini blizzard here and if the flakes were bigger then it would certainly be impressive. The winds blowing the snow off the ground and off roof tops creating mini drifts all over.

Very light snow now, temp on the up though currently 0.7c. These snow to rain events rarely get me excited anymore, possibly due to the fact that's all we've seen this winter.

@ feb1991blizzard - If that came off I will personally eat my own hat. All of it. In all seriousness, Winter would go out in a bang if that happened. Long, long way off so anything could happen and could all change, but look at the height rises.... Wow.

The low dew points could bode well for the longevity of the snowfall.

Snow very fine but getting heavier - heavy snizzle atm

*edit* perhaps moderate snizzle, no sign of snow on the ground here just yet

Basically its the average of 51 ensemble members and it brings in an Easterly and then looks like having a good go at retrogression (Northerly), for a ensemble mean chart to show a synoptic pattern like that at day 10, there must be a pretty strong signal.

Yes but for an ens suite to flip and suddenly latch onto the op like that, there must be a strong signal.
