I wonder what date that is?

We always get snow here in March. Some of the biggest falls. 1969 was a specially good example. Snowed for about 3 days and had huge drifts.

Also Easter is early. Easter Sat is March 30. There's always more chance of snow at Easter than Christmas.

So don't put your skis away.

I think the cold weather will return in 2-3 weeks time or very end of next week if we lucky. From Thursday onwards it be very quiet on here with 2-3 posts per day.

2-4 cm, possible stalling front. Rain or sleet after 3pm possible.

Yes that pretty much sums the whole region up besides higher ground where places like Buxton, Pennines, Rossendale will do fairly well (10cm) left trouser legable.

Does anyone know what the wet stuff falling out of the sky is? Do you think God is angry because the Pope resigned..?

Met Office: "Outbreaks of sleet and snow spreading across all parts during the morning, settling for a time, but then turning to rain through the afternoon except on the highest hills. Maximum Temperature 4 °C." Doesn't sound like much of an event...!

The thing with tomorrows event,is that the snow is not going to take hours to stick,as soon as

it starts it will stick straight away, the cold surface temperatures will see to that, accumalation

depths will depend on the intensity of the PPN,Meto are going for 2-6cm on low ground, over about a

five hour period, which IMO will be about right

Don't forget the Met Office are always conservative with regards to the forecasts they issue. Its actually a very upbeat forecast by UKMO standards, I'm quite confident of seeing some nice lying snow before it either fizzles out or turns to rain in the evening. Temps aren't due to really rise until Thursday morning, so what falls should lie during the evening and into the night.

Liverpool will see a few hours of steady snowfall with accumulations of 2-4cm. The earlier it start the better for places on lower ground.
