2.3C now and the sun is shining. There's some hefty showers up to the north, hopefully with our name on them!

I find it a bit strange that we have a weather warning. I cant see any of these showers making there way inland unless the wind is due to change direction. Its a day of looking out at sea and thinking what if.

Snow showers will continue to affect parts of northern and eastern Scotland and eastern coastal areas of England on Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Localised accumulations of snow become more likely as temperatures fall on Wednesday evening, with 1-2cm possible in places at low-level, and perhaps 2-5cm on some higher ground. Icy stretches may also develop on some roads and pavements. this must be what alza was talking about yesterday

Heavy snow shower now here in Newcastle.

Flakes are fairly small but blowing around in a stiff breeze.

That MO warning sounds like there could be a trough in the offing????

Snow now settling on grass and rooftops.

Is it me or has the wind shifted round to the north east now?

If it has that would explain the sudden change from patchy cloud and sunshine to heavy snow!
