The wind really gets up when a shower is approaching, very powerful gust against the window then a round of hail!

There's a nice clump of showers heading towards Newcastle for around midnight.

Medium flakes now, -3C.

Re. those showers I was just using raintoday - there's a decent clump out in the North Sea heading our way.

The showers come and go really, the last one to hit Tyneside really intensified as it hit land and gave that hailstorm, followed by a quick covering of snow.

Someone give a shove up the backsides of those showers further North and divert them to Teesside. There's been no precipitation here since morning apart from the odd snow pellet. Even if it does snow tonight, it'll have to be quite heavy to lay as its quite windy.

I'll be surprised if there's not a few cm at least by the morning.
