More intense ppn now starting to develop. Whats it like in Consett? Looks like some slightly heavier snow there.

Getting frequent heavy (but light intensity) snow showers. We have a minor covering on roofs but the sky looks promising!

How can that work out? Heavy but light intensity? wacko.png

I can only assume you mean the snow is falling fairly heavily but at small flakes so the intensity can look mis-leading e.g PPN is heavier than it actually is.

Been light hail on and off all day here but has got a bit heavier in the last hour with

the odd bit of proper snow mixed in.

Quater inch covering on cleared surfaces here and light to moderate snowfall now.

Streamers forming east of newcastle and durham coast so somewhere could get a decent covering if it continues.

looks like it may be a streamer trying to develop on the radar, and teesside is in the direct firing line lol for once

Just been out with dog and there is 3cms of fresh snowfall on cleared surfaces since 5pm. Plenty of scope to double that going off radar and forecast for some heavier showers in the morning.

ah right lmao, never mind. There's plenty of showers blowing in off the North Sea it seems so most of us should wake up to a light covering hopefully.

Couple of cms here the most I've seen from this cold spell apart from in Newton Aycliffe on the night of Sunday 17th where a there was a couple of inches of wet snow.

looks like the usual suspects of stanley and consett are getting hit tonite

The radar doesn't suggest that they are getting more than anyone else TBH.
