Plenty of snow in north west Leeds. Slight covering on the road but all pavements, cars etc covered. Fairly light at the moment but if the forecast is to be believed it looks like there is plenty more to come.

I work in Castleford and when I left at 4 there was nothing. Usually do quite well here in LS16.

Been snowing since 4pm in Bramley! Oddly it's not settling on the road though.

I can see the flashing amber lights of a gritter plough on top of the hills on the Halifax Road and its crawling along, not the usual

lunatic gritter driving. The Sheffield Road is covered now the traffic has suddenly become non exsistent, now everyones home from work

i doubt many will venture out in this.

It seems like the heaviest ppn will be from approx 10pm to 3am with totals up to 1.5 - 2.0cm an hour.

Its already at roughly the same amount as we had on Jan21st which was the best snow of the season with lying snow on the ground from

2 events, 19th and 21st.

Its seriously heavy now that dark patch on the radar has just landed.

Machu the fact you live u the top of a hill may skew your opinion. If you look at most of the reports unless your highish up in the sw of the region then its dry or the odd flurry.

Luckily i dont mind the banter :)

I was getting that as well earlier, i think what it is is that the wind is so strong its blowing the PPN sideways in the air as its falling so as the 'heavy clouds' are over us its falling next to it or just after its passed. At least thats what I thought of lol, guess it makes some sense of the radar games!

You might be right, so what i need is for the heaviest precip to be to the right of me on the map then :-)

Which Radar are you using? You could be reading wrongly.

this is a little weather related i suppose, i am finding it so hilarious that our neighbour insists on coming out of the house all wrapped up, snow boots on and the lot, just to sweep the bush in the front garden, and the top of his concrete fence, even though IT IS STILL SNOWING rofl.gif

Netweather extra radar, if i turn precip type off, it shows the heaviest precip in yellow i believe followed by green then dark then light blue, the yellow was over me for 10 minutes and nothing at all falling

Are you using the new scale?? The older one NW Original is much better. I was using V6 earlier and the old scale but that showed steady snow I switched to V4 of Radar and the old scale and it showed that my area was in the very light area hence nothing happening.

It isn't just hilly areas. I have 6 inches on car roof. Most areas west of Leeds are getting buried. Kirklees, calderdale and Bradford areas are all expected to get much more snow overnight.

Heavy snow here now again. Just arrived back home to a fully laden cul-de-sac with quality drifting across the fields behind me facing east.

Very cold in wind but I like it...!

Still not fully covered here. Lol

Careful the Snow Police will be on you for saying that. Possibly 6cm to 7cm here so you must be barking mad LOL. Since the heavy stuff is in small areas I'm not surprised some are seeing very little. Plus elevation makes a difference.
