Just past Wortley at Wharncliffe Woods, it'll be fun for you over there, take a drive down the road to Thurgoland, they always get it a bit worse than we do.

There'll be some nice drifting out near the woods as its open, i bet they're thigh deep, maybe even waist deep in places.

I hope the ploughs been down Woodhead Road for you, enjoy your sledging.

Thanks Machu

I hope that that road is passable, but i fear not ,but i will take the drive anyway

I can remember when two landies got stuck up there, the drifts where over the top of them next day, cannot remember what date but it was unbelievable.

Cheers mate. So its going to keep feeding from the South then and not pivot at all?

It is starting to pivot more towards east to west, but I'm not sure if it will make any difference to how heavy our precipitation is.

Well my original fears are probably coming to fruition, a big fat nonevent from my perspective. Good if you live in Huddersfield or Penistone. I think the removal of the amber warnings are in order, the current rate of snowfall shouldn't even warrant a yellow warning.

But the nae was great. Dnt be wrong!!

False promises, unless it intensifies throughout the night.

Still nothing here. The wind is howling though, Iv'e just been out to pick the bins up after i heard them crash! Absolutely freezing!! Radar looks better, could be some snow overnight albeit light. Impressive seeing some of the totals coming in.

But all charts, forecasts and data show snow well into north east and moderate and prolonged. Surely thy can't be wrong from the latest data!!

Btw where u live??

A bit of perspective - a foot of snow in NE Wales. Kind of hard to get excited about the possibility of 12 - 14 hours of light snowfall when these are the scenes, and these aren't high elevation scenes either.

Its looking like that in my back yard now, big fluffy white cushions on top of everything, apart from the shed roof cus the wind blows it off.

Nowt here all day and nowt now too despite the NW radar showing pink over us. Strong, gusty easterly wind with a temp of 1.5°C and DP of -2.1°C.

I am still hoping for my 20th snow day of the (long) winter but have been waiting all week. So far, so close but no cigar.

Maybe worth keeping in mind another 12 hours of snow yet. They said on forecast intensification over night, so we'll see. Bed for me!

the heavier radar echos always seem to avoid here, which is odd as there are no topographic influences.
