Anyway it's too high for the 30cm ruler, about 45cm if not more. I wish that was the level snow everywhere but it's definitely not. The wind keeps whipping up the snow so in the thinnest parts it's only 16-18cm, in the deepest parts (not drifts) it's 30cm+.

Current temp: -2.c, wind chill: -9.4c

F♀♂♫#☺g Hell man shok.gif flashbacks to 2010 or what.

Winters have now become longer than ever, since 2010 we've been expecting snow from November and from next year we're going to still be expecting snow

in late March.

Nice pics mate, i've just gauged 16" on my wheelie bin but you've instantly pi55ed on that and turned it yellow aggressive.gif

Enjoy your obnoxiously obscene amount of snow.

Anyone thinking about tomorrow.!? Are we really only looking at 1/2c in bright sunshine and clouds!? Expecting quite a thaw even in shade because two weeks ago the ice day was due to colder uppers. Any thoughts...

I hope we keep a lot this week with the cold conditions.

Just snuck over from the SE thread to salivate over your snow pics and reports. Brilliant pics folks, I shall now slope off back to a dry and murky area...

GFS has showers pushing in sunday evening into more northern parts of our region, under a cold dry easterly airflow with uppers of -10 I wouldn't be suprised for some areas to have further accumulations (especially during night time hours)! Certainly will be worth keeping an eye on the radar even though nothing much is expected from the met office.

Took a few more vids, here's one, they're all on the same YouTube channel.

That one's on the main road over the top between Outlane and Golcar (for those that know).

I think you'll have to update your signature after looking at that video :)

Just been for a quick drive to see where the snow's gone!

Had to drive 10 miles west before there's a dusting. Top of Garrowby Hill on the Wolds there's probably less than 2cm, but even so, some of the drifts are approaching 2 feet.

Went across to Settrington Beacon and apart from Garrowby you can't see any, right across the Vale of Pickering to the lower slopes of the North York Moors, nor looking west towards York. Above that you can't see because of the haze, but there was snow cover there before.

Machu, have you seen those photos of the Main Street in Penistone March 1933? I've got some in a book somewhere, they're awesome - go take some more!

Met office warning:

Valid from - 24 Mar 2013, 00:05

Valid to - 24 Mar 2013, 09:00

Lying snow in many areas will melt on roads and pavements by day, refreezing by night to give icy patches. In addition, further mostly light snow is expected in places, giving accumulations of a few cm locally, mainly over eastern England. Also, snow blowing off fields in strong to gale force winds will affect some roads, especially over high ground.

I think these snow showers could locally give a few suprises, especially where any streamers form. It ain't over yet

Does anyone know what it's like Doncaster way? I'm supposed to be golfing at Owston on Easter Sunday, but if the snows anything like it is here in Sheffield (about 6 or 7 inches I would guess, level) the I'm not all that confident it will have disappeared in a week's time (before we event think about the possibility of any more falling!)! Unbelievable stuff.

There's about 6 inches on the fields around here drifts much more, I'm a couple of miles from owston. Would have thought it'd be gone even in the shade by next Sunday though?

Without trying to make you insanely jealous here is the view of the extensive snow cover in my back garden...

It would be interesting to see how abrupt the snow line was. Is there anyone on here from Selby or Tadcaster or Wetherby?

I'm in Garforth and we've got about 10cm level covering, drifts about twice that in the drive which was clear last night. Not sure about further to the east though.

I don't think Its been this cold before in late march in my life time, even in freezing winters of late 70s.

I wish people would clear the snow. Plus apply a bit of intelligence and not walk on the roads when traffic is coming. Even better this morning people thought the sheet ice on Woodseats a main road was easier to walk on than the Snow. Didn't matter if anybody was driving along drive round me I'm okay. I didn't even like looking at the sheet ice let alone crossing the road. The pavements were a lot easier and safer.
