I'm not even going to attempt a snowfall total as it would be inaccurate, theres no area unaffected by the wind and drifting. I should of put a

box out the back in a sheltered area and stuck the gauge in it.

Snows getting heavier now with flake size increasing, a convoy of tooled up heavy farm vehicles and JCB360's are heading into the town

center so the clean up is underway. There will be a mountain in TESCO car park after they clear this lot up, i need to go up later so

i'll take some pics.

A good 2-3 inches here, more than happy as wouldn't have expected that from just light snow.

Good quality snow two with it blowing around in the wind.

Suprised at that HC. 5" level snow here in Bingley n been out with me tape measure at the biggest drift in garden with 18" against shed lol.Just seen bbc graphics which now suggest light snow till at least 3pm.Best snow of winter by far and summer time begins next weekend lol.

I can confirm we have some snow here. I shall try and get out and about shortly but it's still pretty grim out there. Took a quick vid after helping dig a Transit out of a drift near our house:

Theres plenty more snow left in the front, its really coming down here and the radar is full of darker echos.

Theres a constant stream of dark echos coming over the North Sea out of Belgium to feed our area.

Its now been snowing constantly for 31.5hrs, thats the longest prolonged spell i can remember experiencing in the UK.

Couple of pics from the garden, had about 5" snow overnight mainly from about 3am. Still fine stuff coming down but accumalated snow does look to be melting.

Just been out to get an 'attempted measurement', with all these drifting conditions.

Just shy of a foot here in Huddersfield, and this is only 5 minutes out of the town center!

Just had a measure up and I have around 9 inches or 23cms level snow here.

Pretty amazing given my modest elevation and bearing in mind how late in the season we are.

Temperature sensor is reading 0.3c but is buried under the snow being only around 4 inches off the ground so I doubt that is accurate!

Well the models have us in an easterly flow all week.Wonder if showers crop up?, mainly due to the suns strength?.Cant see a decent thaw for a while.

Hmm, doesn't make sense. No warning from METO about that.

Was it a live cast or recording?
