Am glad I never stuck with our HP anomaly for the end of may and revised it down to a 50 50 split between summer warmth and winter troughing. Would have been a total bust !Although the world according to facebook is aghast and shocked with snow, don't think it is of much surprise to folks here.Looking on the sunny side, hopefully this latest arctic drain us the last of the energy up there and we can look forward to something better in June, if not pronounced warmth for July.Summer it would seem is on the same delayed schedule as Spring..

Aye Lorenzo neep sowing still on hold!!!!! especially today.

God I hope you're right Lorenzo. Where I was working yesterday is today a total whiteout. At this time of year, this means:

No work, no beer tokens.  And you can take your skiing off to la-la land until November. Posted Image

Snow showers most of the morning between Banchory and Fettercairn but it seems to have stopped now.  Very windy but the sun is trying it's best to come out and stay out!

chin up guys/gals...if the BBC Scotland Reporting Scotland forecast is correct - temps mid-high teens, sunny& settled for the long weekend (at least it is long for me!!) Posted Image

Yep,looking forward to some sun with a bit of warmth over the next few days.

We are camping up in Highland Perthshire from tomorrow till Monday. Wouldn't have been much fun today with that wind and squally rain, hail and even some with snow showers.

Here a single figure max day with some squally showers with hail and a very cold strong NNW wind.

5.9ºC, cold, grey, breezy and damp. That's us back to late October now.

It does look like being a lot better over the weekend, although the temperatures still look a little below average for the time of year? I'm not complaining as anything is better than this, I've been off sick all week and can't get a heat this morning :(

Best day of the week by far. Lovely sun with a slight breeze at times. Same tomorrow (breeze perhaps less) Sunday cloudier before the washout monday. Interesting week of weather it been with very little rain (despite the predictions of monday's flash floods)

Beautiful here too since mid morning.  Not a cloud in sight earlier and the sun is so strong.  Nippy breeze at times, but lovely.

Much better day with long spells of sunshine this afternoon and evening but clear and cool this evening. Almost a mid summer sunset over the Firth this evening.post-2744-0-45980600-1369431267_thumb.jp

Much improved day on yesterday, and tomorrow looking even better. First mow of the lawn today, new drainage installed and reseeded, so we will see how we go.

Cracking moon earlier this evening, clear skies everywhere....

A proper frost last night, down to -0.4ºC/-2.1ºC. Quite impressive for so late in spring :good:

Up to 11.5ºC already though :)

A frost last night has now given way to a really beautiful day, completely clear blue skies, light breeze and over 18'C so far. Well deserved after having sleet throughout spring up until just a few days ago!

Currently 20.7ºC in the back garden...I think the sun might be cooking the weather station a little again

I know some places have had fresh snow to fairly low levels in recent days, but it's still remarkable that the Cheviot has some snow patches on its northern slopes. There has been snow on it since January, hopefully at least one of the patches will hold out a few more days and make it until June.

It's just over 20'C here, so not implausible! Posted Image

This looks like 1 of these rare dawn to dusk sunny days if the cloud can hold off to after dark. Wonderful sunny day

Two consecutive days of glorious summer weather with wall to wall sunshine, blue skies and a distinct summery look to the landscape. The moon has been massive over the past few nights. Tomorrow is not looking as good weatherwise and Monday looks wet, windy and quite cool.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
