What a day! Started out from Wall, SD and had a target area somewhere around central Nebraska. After checking data on the move we could see the moisture surging up near to Thedford with backing surface winds. A lot of waiting was needed today and finally at around 7:30 pm the first tops broke the cap near to Broken Bow. Headed straight south east and punched the core across the top. Some big hailstones were taken, really hard ones too and we were greeted with a simply stunning LP supercell moving at a snails pace. Got a great view on top of a hill for about 20 minutes then jogged east where we got some amazing lightning shots with the skinny updraught :D The cell to our north west then became tornado warned so off we went. Ended up sat between the two cells with a great light show to finish the night. Made our way down to Kearney ready for what looks to be a great set up tomorrow for some tubes!

Stunning LP structure shots! Made more dramatic by getting the lightning in too.

Stunning photographs people, incredible how far that lightning is jumping out of that fantastically structured cell. I'm sure a tornado would have been the cherry but I'd take that structure any day..!

great video....think those "close" strikes are do to reflections in the lens or how the frame rate captures the image, it seems common on videos of lightning strikes can appear much closer than they really are.
