Things erupting back into life after a brief interlude, most notable is the new cell that's formed close-by to me north of Buxton which was nothing but drizzle only 15mins ago.

Wow this really looks like it wants to put down a tornado just south of Nottingham.

I'm keeping a very close eye on it.

Does seem to be back building.

All the lightning flashes seems to be inter cloud. Not bad though

Hi pit,it looks like it's backbiulding to me,do you think.

Just teasing. On the plus side there's enough moisture and heat here to feed for ages if it wants to get to come and feed for abit. Thunder is getting louder so it's trying. People in the east of Sheffield will be happy.

Rumbles of thunder here, dark to the SW.

Bit of an early one that storm and has passed (passing) to the side, we need to see storms growing from south of bedford to hit us direct.

Can't see anything happening here tonight, though shouldn't complain after last night's lightning fest.

I think they're using the new extra scale which always makes things look more lively than they are. The cells staying fixed to the south and South east not moving any closer.

Anyone near the Notts storm keep a close eye on it, I'm losing my view of it soon and need to go out soon with my gf :(

Cloud motion is all over the place, looks like some rotation, I wouldn't be at all surprised to read funnel reports from that one.

Although I can see a lot of cloud bubbling up, and MetO seem to think 8/9PM is our time....

Rain easing here now, but traffic chaos all over Nottinghamshire due to the sudden heavy rainfall. Thunder still rumbling.

All the storms are forming & passing through exactly the same places as yesterday. Always the same when it comes to the North West of England. I was surprised to see an amber warning but not surprised that everything is forming & passing over the other side of the Pennines.

Hmm, I'm not convinced. I think the line of radar returns are it, and they are pushing northwards and eastwards. Edited by Weather-history

Sun is shining here - but only through a small hole. The skies are really, really turbulent-looking though, and it feels really humid - feels like everything is about to go boom, but of course it isn't.. and won't.

That Nottingham storm looks insane!

Can actually see the massive thunderhead of it from Peterborough.
