I'd love to head in the direction of what's coming over from France but it would take 3 hours plus to get there :(

There seems to be blobs of intense rain embedded in a curved line within the storm. Could this be a bow echo or something else entirely?

Not as well defined in the next radar update but still there.

The system hasn't lost too much energy as its moving across the channel I've took two pictures this first was at 17:05 and the second is the latest updated chart although there aren't as many reds showing its still pretty heavy considering its crossed the channel

Developing storm here in the centre of MK, heavy convective rainfall, 5 rumbles & sky growing darker all the time :)

Cell developing near MK, looks like the main area of heavy rain and Sferics is heading east :(

Any ideas what this cone shaped feature is perfectly symmetrical rising up from the top of the thunder head/anvil.

If you run the latest sat sequence on www.sat24.com over France, and wait for the 18:30 frame you willl see it where

ive indicated it on the image below.. Any ideas what this feature is ?  Looks like a giant upside down tornado..

Theres also a shadow of the feature in a NE direction opposite to where the sun is SW.

Things look to be heading eastwards for the time, however the LLC should start to make an impact on vectors within the next couple of hours and western areas will see flow 'wrapping around' itself as developments continue to intensify.

Summer Sun, reduction in intensity to be expected, theoretically should increase again on landfall.

Also look like that line of heavy rain near Milton Keynes is growing and extending towards the line extending from the main area of rain over Oxfordshire and into Wiltshire.

Rain continues in South Oxfordshire with increased winds at times gusty,

The storm brewing around the MK/Bedford region is moving in rather random way (east to west) , however then it looks to be rotating very stormy feeling outside and very warm.

Looks like I'm tantalisingly too west of any heavy rain tonight, unless it intensifies. Also, this rain will be here in an hour or so, isn't that a good 2-4 hours earlier than predicted,

Very dark here. Slight drizzle a few minutes ago which has since stopped. Still looking good for later. TWC don't predict 'Heavy T-Storms' to hit until 7pm onwards.
