Looks tasty down there. Just had some lightning and frequent rumble of Thunder here in Central London (SE17) - nothing since 8pm though. There's a bit of convective high altitude stuff but nothing surface based, as of yet.

Down on the coast in Dymchurch Posted Image lightning we are having is very elevated and vibrant purple - the loud ground shaking thunder we had earlier is no more.

It's too wet though to go out in sadly.

EDIT - Scracth that - two very close and powerful CGs as I finished typing lol....ground shaking thunder is back lol.

Breeze and low cloud beginning to whip in from the ESE...this thing seems to be trying to organise Posted Image

I see that the system has now changed direction for the SE, rather than moving NW its now moving NE.  Excellent...

Just had a heavy downpor with a coupleof flashes of lightn ing and some thunder. The lightning is very strobe like, instead of the usual one flash and done.

Has anyone else got a visual in the Romney-Dymchurch direction?

Sky's getting very dark to my South now, and thunder in the distance...

OMFG!!  That was incredible, I've never seen that in 15-17 years... literally 5-6 flashes of lightning in 2 seconds!!  And a rumble of Thunder, come on explode...

Still rumbling...

And as I type, Thunder/Lightning at a distance of just 2 miles from the North Surrey downs.

Any chance there will be any Thunder&Lightning on the western side of this rain band or it just going to be rain?

The next door neighbour filling up the watering can made more of a 'noise' than this drizzle, blegh, I don't know what to think currently other than significant rainfall amounts were modelled for the NW by 9pm and it looks like a typical late autumn day out there.

Harry the best is about to have passed you with nothing behind it looking at the radar. Perhaps half an hour to an hour left for you...
