mostly cloudy with various layers from Sc to Ci around, about 7/8 total, a low of 11.4C and almost no breeze but any does seem to be about SSE

The 50th anniversary of the start of my records dawns on a very quiet and benign note. After a dry and cloudy night the cloud has broken up in the last hour and a half to allow sunny intervals.

At 0800 g.m.t;

Temp; 11.2c

24 hr max; 14.1c

24 hr min; 9.5c

Grass min; 7.5c

Rainfall in 24 hrs ending 0800 g.m.t; 0.0 mm

Mean wind speed; 5 mph SE

4 oktas Sc, Ci and Ac

Vis; 50 km.

Incidentally the weather on Sept' 27th 1963 ( at a site 9 miles from where I am now and 150 m lower) was dry and breezy ( gust of 35 mph ) with sunny intervals and a maximum of 61F ( 16.1C ).

It's been a pleasant day here with long spells of sunshine and light East winds, hardly a cloud in the sky at times, a max temp of 16.7c. There are some nice Autumnal colours starting to show now with the weakening sun.

A lovely warm day for late September. Plenty of sunshine through out the day. Despite this a surprisingly poor drying day for washing though took a good 8 hours to dry.

Continuing the general cloudy and quiet pattern of the last week or so but the visibility has improved and it's feeling slightly less humid.  Clear start but soon clouded over, sunny intervals later, particularly early afternoon.  Maximum 18.6, minimum 10.3.  Wind light E.
