One rumble from that mass while I was out in staines then just very intense rain. Looks like the best of it was further west, heading towards NW London. Sun trying to come out now.

100 homes damaged in Hayling Island due to tornado moving across the Island, my brother lives on the south side close to Portsmouth sound but is currently up in the Lake District.

Probably just a microburst.

Looks like i screwed up as would have been better staying at home, although I now live south of Derby so may have not got those cells over Matlock etc anyhow.

One bit of positive news is i am heading north up the A1 now so should get hit by the storms in the west midlands currently.

Rain has managed to avoid us either side, but the lightning has been excellent. Some really dark skies in the distance especially with the sun beaming through now. 5 or 6 shots of lightning and 2 fork bolts to our west not long ago.

Well, nothing seems to be firing up round here. The stuff over Wales looks mostly moderate in intensity too.

Nothing ever seems to happen in your neck of the woods does it? Had a cracking Thunderstorm here yesterday evening with constant rolling thunder, lightning every 10 seconds or so and torrential tropical style rain. Lasted about 40 minutes.

Nah, been like this for a few years now. We always get the blandest of what's on offer.

Everything over the midlands has died as it approaches Lincolnshire which is where i am. That has to be the first time storms have died as they head to Lincolnshire. It's not my day today lol.

Had a nice storm here in Chesterfield, Torrential rain and some pea sized hail at one point, lots of water on the roads spewing out of the drains.

Good storm for late october.

Noticed some strong convective wind gusts this afternoon while attempting to chase the weather that headed up Cambridge way, blowing the trees around with leaves swirling all across the road. Also saw a couple of big cloud to cloud flashes near Cambridge. However, not having data access, I guessed the best of the action might be back down South so made the decision to go back down the M11 - stupid move as it kicked off slightly further up the road in the end. Anyway, the rain coming back down the M11 was absolutely torrential for about 15 miles. Certainly the heaviest rain I've seen for some time.
