Yes im off to bed, radar suggests that there won't be any activity around my area to at least 4/6pm. So goodnight and hopefully thunder will wake me up in the morning! :p

Anyone in south Manchester see the sunset earlier this evening? absolutely amazing colors with nearly everything from yellows, reds, purples, being thrown in the mix along with the rain-line out over Lancs and the city to the north.

Plenty of showers coming up from the SW approaches over SW England currently.

Only been awake for an hour but already had 2 heavy downpours.

A few flashes of lightning here but can't hear thunder. No rain yet either.

My Alarm Call for work at 5.55am this Sunday morning - thunder and lightning, just before my phone alarm was to go off.

Dawn and dusk seem enhanced times for storm development, not sure if its to do with dew-points increasing, or lapse rates altering... , those storms were not hugging the coast yesterday, organised storms over France atm too.

Some rather menacing skies looking west towards Heathrow from my Office, can hear thunder too.

Well a bit disappointing down here..

and to add to it there looks to be a thunderstorm at uni! and there was me thinking the coasts would do better this time of year but the weather detected I was at home..

Not in Egham then. Unfortunately we have had a storm this morning but it passed pretty quickly.

Hammering it down here with rain, rumbles of thunder in the distant, the skies to the South of here look menacing to say the least!

Nope went home this weekend unfortunately, thought it might coincide with increased thunder chance here too but not the case.  Oh well there will probably be a storm at home in Devon this week while I'm back in Egham.

The heaviest pixel on the radar passed right over my student house lol.

Ahh, not sure what to do, chase the line of cells moving to west of Cambridge or sit tight and hope that things move across this way.

Umm, think my question may have been answered already - activity seems to have stopped. May be some XBox instead.

Guest William Grimsley

I've just been focusing my eyes on these thunderstorms situated to the SW of Devon. I just hope that they track this way and that they keep their energy as if they hit at their current intensify, there could be some heavy/torrential rain with thunder and lightning, here.

Does anyone think they might keep going?
