Im amazed that SouthEastern have already said services will probably not run before 12 tomorrow... Yes, it'll be windy and wet, but will it really be train disrupting?

We now live in a suing & compensation culture, it's better to anger customers than to potentially have an accident and then be financially & morally worse off as a consequence.

Or maybe to let passengers know beforehand so alternative arrangements can be made. There is already major disruption due to major engineering works on Southern so that's not an alternative for people.

i would assume the railways want to check

1  trees down

2  landslips due to the excees rainfall we have had

not sure whether flooding can effect the tracks or not

although a huge nuisance to travellers i sort of understand why they have done this

lets hope we now have a break after tomorrow from this heavy rain and winds

Hi there SE gang,

Hope your Xmas is going well.

Met Eireann have issued a Red Alert as many trees are falling coupled with flooding. Storm has not even peaked there yet. I have asked MetO why they have not issued a Red Alert for Northern Ireland.

will update later when i do the fax charts Posted Image

Excellent, thank you.

At the moment there's a mass of heavy rain heading up the channel but only a thin band over land. If it pivots up onto land it could make things worse in flooded areas of the South East. If not then that band doesn't look like it'll produce too much?

Are we really expecting any wind here around London tonight now or not really?

Cheers,

Mal

Yes, Ruthie. Been like it most of afternoon and now and it's seizing up when 'liking'. Just got back from Lowestoft and brrrrr it's blooming cold. Ironically, the car overheated on way back and we had to ask for water at someone's house. They were very nice about it. :) Hope you all had a good day wearing your 'Christmas Jumpers'. :D
