Pretty worrying what's happening out there at the minute but even more worrying is that we've got William Hague trying to sort it out.

Just dug out my copy of protect and survive , pillow cases filled with sand doors off and resting against the wall , lots of beans , camping stove ,torch and short wave radio ready for instructions from mr hague , so I guess I'm ready !!!.... or I could use one of my excavators to dig a big hole and burry myself !!!......

A beautiful morning in Manchester, not a cloud in the sky, except for that plume of smoke from the fire in Salford. As it's a paper fire, the smoke looks like a regular cloud once it gets high enough for all the water vapour to condense out.

Slight frost here this morning, temp was 3.6c when I got up about 7.30am, has quickly risen to 7.3c now the sun is up, beautiful clear blue sky, lots of contrails. Looking forward to going for a nice walk in the park

 

How about a North West meet up, anyone interested?

If you hold it it Liverpool and let a couple of softie southerners join you I'll try to get up with Mr P  - we have been trying to find an excuse for a weekend up there for ages, Mr P was born there so he's sort of one of you lot (and of course he supports Liverpool FC)

Heavy frost this morning. The first this winter infact!

Very heavy graupel shower 10 minutes ago. Left a covering of white on the cars.
