A short heavy shower around 0710 g.m.t and another lighter one in the last few minutes both accompanied by muffled high level thunder, the first thunder heard here since March.

Its just arrived here, heavy rain and some loud thunder and lightning.

Just had a short hail shower too.

17c

Very dark here and the sky sat signal is struggling.

Good job we have sky go so can keep watching the rugby.

Plenty of continuous thunder earlier, with some hefty rain for a short while. Cloud to ground lightning on one occasion and the thunder really shook the house! Eyes to the south now for more pyrotechnics :yahoo:  :yahoo:  :yahoo:

Yes, not so sure the BEST is heading this way, maybe more of an North Easterly direction!

I must add, i'm not sure though, Anyway we can't have two lots in one day... CAN WE!!! :whistling: lol!

West Midlands? Jack all here, surprise surprise...

You must have had something if stuff was heard in Crewe and a little lightning seen.

It was a great thunderstorm last night. The best thunderstorm I had seen since 02/08/2012. Frequent sheet lightning, deep booming thunder and torrential rain. Just what I wanted.

Looks like some sharp potentially thundery downpours will move into Cornwall this evening according to the models. Some Night lightning would be awesome. :)

Worcs, Glos, Cheshire, Derbyshire but not a single thunder report in Shropshire anywhere....

Very surprised about that, that band went over you between 7-8 this morning and looking at the strikes i would of thought you did quite well!

This shows strikes over the last 5 hrs

Someone in the convective discussion is saying so, and to cap it all my other half just told me she heard some! I can't believe this, I NEVER sleep through thunder, it must have been the quietest thunder ever!

It was pretty lively here too, probably lasted about an hour, started at about 3:45am, with intense rain and some amazing lightning, very loud thunder - mind you with the dog on the bed(she's not a fan of thunder) my attempts to film things out of the vellum roof window were thwarted by my wife!!

Grey and muggy here now - moderate rain, lovely, let's have the sun back please!

Well I don’t think we did as well as other parts of the west Midlands there was 3 very close strikes but I have to say it was not LOUD loud not one of the close strikes shook the windows. The rain was not that heavy either I saw reports of torrential rain but it was just moderate here.

Still it was my sons 1st thunderstorm hoping for some more later so I can film as it proved impossible with a 13 month old grabbing everything you have lol!!

Naff all here, just some light rain ;(

Yep for some reason what was in the Channel after midnight decayed on its' Eastern flank before reforming North of us around 6am!! You would probably have seen lightning to your West if you had been up, I saw 1 distant flash around 04.30 and watched an impressive gust front move overhead - the wind did gust up but there was no rain.

The best thing about being up at first light was watching 3 bats flying around lol!

About 5.30 heavy rain here with thunder. quite loud but not as loud as one time in the past year, which felt almost overhead.

Didn't see any lightning personally, but doesn't mean there wasn't any.

Had my first overhead thunder storm for nearly 6 years this morning.

Have got video which I'll post later (if I can figure out how to do it)

Very short that heavy shower earlier, about half hour.

2mm of rain and hail, with a few thunder rumbles and a couple of lightning strikes.

Dry now and some blue skies appearing from the south.

Meanwhile in Longlevens on the other side of Glos, we had the thunder but no rain at all. Still bone dry here....for now!

Rain here for the last half an hour, not particularly heavy, no thiner or lightening, must all be in Quedgley!
