Have been watching a neat little cell move from approx Frome and just to the SW of Warminster, 6 or 7 flashes and rumbles and possibly a sister cell beginning to form at the rear. Very gusty wind as it's passing by and equally stormy looking over Salisbury Plain in the opposite direction.

lol I wish that really were the case. Instead, it was actually trying to brighten up here a short while ago.

steady rain pretty much all afternoon from a slowly decaying streamer that slid down from mid-wales....ATD picked up several strikes within 15 miles, near Swindon, but alas, I didn't see or hear anything.....A nice clearance now though giving some warm late evening sunshine

With the exception of one moderate shower for about ten minutes around five this evening, we've had a dry day here in north Dorset.  All the rain and storms have gone to either side of us.

Just had mega intense downpour here with hail. This was definitely not forecasted yesterday!

Are you sure your rainfall rate isn't a bit over?

It's all calibrated correctly. The rain was incredible, drops were like 50 pence pieces and there was no wind, so it was falling exactly vertical. 4mm fell in less than 10 minutes, roads flooded quickly.post-15177-0-41354600-1404851224_thumb.pI was in that purple bit. Radar key shows between 120 and 150mm/hr so it's pretty much spot on. Edited by Mapantz

Rather cool and cloudy with some showers today though the sun made it's first appearance just in time for finishing work whey.

Hoping this weekend's weather front's can keep held back with the high pressure upgrading as another cool/poor weekend would be very disappointing considering Friday's looking very decent indeed.
