Got a line of moderately heavy showers passing through here at the moment, certainly shut the annoying screaming kids up outside, bah humbug :D

Shameless self-plug here, but in response to some queries regarding CAPE and LI in here the other day, I'm in the process of writing up some guides. Just posted the first one going through what CAPE and LI are if anyone's interested:

Hoping the showers over Wales will develop as they head NE.

Fairly big anvil going up to my east - could be the cell over Ipswich, not sure

Nothing here as yet barring one short shower this am, although it did throw it down overnight.

The cells that had the sferics SW of Scarborough are clearly visible to the north out the window as I type this and appear pretty substantial. There are also a few to our SW according to the radar but I can't see these due to low level crud. Still, there has been a lot of sunshine today so I remain hopeful.

Thunderstorm overhead here now, seen a couple of flashes and heard a few rumbles. Torrential rain as well.

Line of showers just coming over here with initially very strong winds - quite unexpected. Only lasted a minute or so though and has completely calmed down again now.

Looks like east of the Pennines will see the action, I thought being further east would be best.

Perhaps a nice gust front developed with it.

Could be. Think that might be as exciting as it gets down here today unfortunately.

Stuff developing rapidly SW of here now according to the NW radar so hopefully we should see some action soon. We have had storms to the north (Scarborough), east (Pocklington) and Southeast (Cleethorpes) so it has be our turn soon.

Quite a lot of low level crud about but it is bright, although the temperature has been dropping of late, now only 13.6°C....

That cell to the SW has developed and is now spitting out sferics on the radar and I can hear thunder outside to the west, although still distant. Nice cloudscapes too now with that group of small outlier cells ahead of the main cell passing over in a long line of stratocumulus below the main cloud deck that extends out to the N Sea.

Rain just starting this second.

Storm overhead now. About one clap every 45 seconds or so but all IC. Nice hail shower just before storm got here maximum of 1cm diameter with the majority about 0.6cm. Temp now 12.1°C.

Storm has moved off to the NE now and the sun is out. Looks clear to the SW but very black to the north - I guess looking at the radar towards Driffield. The cell is big and black but appears not to be electrified yet....  Will try and take a piccie of the this and the retreating storm cell.
