Managed to get a small video from my phone.

You'll have to forgive my awkward camera work and presentation.

Brief thunderstorm:

The thunder stopped when I recorded and started when I stopped.

It been rumbling continually for around 45 mins now. Going to go check out that spot in Greenday's video. It's about a 30 min walk away. See if I can get some better views.

Sat near to Grantham. Not much happening storm wise but some great cloudscapes. Hopefully I will see something as the afternoon progresses.

Another storm incoming - the horizon is dark black with the thunder growing louder each time. This is our 3rd storm over the past 3 days - think we've been spoilt! It makes up for last year when we hardly had anything while other people had some big t-storms.

Can see the storm in NE Wales from my office window, wish I could lasso it over here!

Some impressive cloudscapes today, but unfortunately no storms - too far west, like yesterday.

the heaviest shower here gave an intensity of 49.6mm around 1300, 3-4 miles away the hail, always 5mm or less (no lightning seen or thunder heard) whilst sat in a car, almost started to cover the ground at one point, 2 distinct cells were apparent.

Diurnal heating? Can this happen this evening as met office seem to think soo in the South east...

This Evening and Tonight: South East

Scattered heavy, perhaps thundery, showers at first. These will largely die away overnight, although an isolated shower is possible. Clear spells are then expected. Becoming chilly, especially in rural locations. Minimum Temperature 5 Â°C.

Think I spoke too soon - no more thunder/lightning, just a hefty shower. Saw a couple of CGs though before it hit here.

Sky has been growing darker and darker across E London for the past half hour or so and still getting darker.

Hard to tell from this distance what's happening on top and whether the Cu/Cb is still growing.

Seems to have lost its spark at the moment. I could see it from the Wolds as I drove home to Bev and there were lots of sprites on AM (Radio 5!). Hopefully will pep up again as it goes over the Wolds, i.e. before it gets here.

When I got home the low level clouds were coming in from the SE and I was confued so got in and checked the NW Radard. Main band of convection is travelling in the opposite direction (from WNW) and now the low level stuff has stopped moving altogether: completely still! Must be some local convergence although this motion is not indicated on the NW wind vectors, which do so some shear...

All bodes well for another storm.

Come On!!!  :clapping:

Ok, just come back after a long walk to get a better view.

Saw some interesting things.

Gonna upload the video, I'll report back when that's done, but in the meantime, here's some pics:

Got some rumbles out of this one, along with some interesting cloud formations, there look to be a lot of low-hanging cloud that kept looking like funnels forming.

There also looked like an inflow band and a wall cloud, but that was probably just wishful thinking on my part.

This was from the earlier cell, glad I wasn't caught out in that:

Yup it feels like a bubble is about to burst :) Some heavy Showers/Cells beginning to form over London, surface heating is at play, this time it seems much more prime for something to kick off. Menacing skies to my East very dark seems turbulent! post-19153-0-04551100-1399910807_thumb.jpost-19153-0-30939300-1399910932_thumb.jpost-19153-0-12183600-1399910977_thumb.jpost-19153-0-15022300-1399911148_thumb.j Edited by Daniel*

Looking good I must say - very dark and narrow core, though the darkness might be merely the effect of the sun shining into it.

Best sky I've seen in 2014 :D

No thunder yet but it is getting very dark and the radar echoes are increasing in brightness: the Wolds are working their magic again.....

Whole mass is moving very slowly indeed.
