Just watched a cell rapidly grow on the radar, 3 clapps of thunder and some impressive hail just now in kempston!

Basically, we may have some big storms come up from France if we see a cut off low to our southwest :)

Oh my dear God in heaven, please let this be.. last mega storm we had here was May 2011, in from the South!

Went through MK a while ago, dropped brief spell of moderate rain, but no thunder  :cc_confused:

Basically, we Belgium may have some big storms come up move North-Eastwards from France if we see a cut off low to our southwest, that actually decides to cuddle the UK a bit closer than modelled.  :nonono:

Wind has shot up, Yorkshire winning the cricket and it's got pretty dark. Looks to me it'll pass south of here but quite a quick change. Wakefield probably in line for it I expect.

Edit big flash to the south of Leeds. It has built quickly.

In East Leeds atm, very dark skies to the NW - rain bands approaching. Wind picking up a lot. Radar looks alright.

Decided to intercept some cells near Stamford and Rutland, all I can say is OMG!! Seen some cracking cg's accompanied by some real low booming thunder! What a decision this was!

Now being flooded out by torrential hail and rain ! Ahh !

Damn that sucks, MK almost always does better for storms then here! Wasnt much of a storm though, didn't observe any lightning but had about 5 good rumbles! No rain but 5 mins of pea size hail. Perhaps another will form over the next hour or so....

Nice rumbles of Thunder in the distance as that line of cells drifts across the Firth of Forth and skirts along the East Coast.

Skies very dark to the East, grabbed a pic, good contrast here in the skies, brilliant whites and the ominous Grey / Black of the towering Cu.

4 rumbles of thunder in the last 20 mins but no lightning sighted yet. Feels ominous

Here in SE London it was about 12PM and the rain was surreal :D It was like being in a Indian Monsoon, and booming Thunder, that shuddered the ground I stood on, throughout the day we have done very well. Sadly this may be the most decent day for a while...

Really?? I'm in C London and didn't hear so much as a murmur.

Some big Cb's around, as well as to the N of London so may get lucky later

Pretty dissapointing to be honest, here. I was expecting quite a few downpours today but we haven't had anything since last night.

The cell that passed through here not so long ago has produced some strikes umpteen miles later. Looks to be about Kidderminster way. Typical!!

Yep, I was in Telford when that cell passed over, I just thought "this will fire off as soon as it leaves Shropshire"  :wallbash:
