Keeping an eye on the cells popping up around belgium & france, looks likely they'll cross the channel through kent & east sussex, then london onto the south midlands during the late evening if they hold together,

Well another stunning day! Not much cloud here, but after 2 (or possibly more, who's counting) large

glasses of cheap tempranillo and falling asleep in the garden, I may have missed them.

Am I bovverred?

Towers in the Channel now! These don't do it justice as houses in the way - if it looks interesting might pop out to the cliffs along the road :)

Like the look if all that stuff near Le Mans looks like it is heading right for my location. Keep an eye on it all

Looking  promising  for this evening. I saw bands of Altocumulus castellanus on the way home from East Grinstead this evening as well as a large cumulonimbus calvus to my east. Looking at the radar in France the prospects are enticing!

It has been a beautiful day here in mid Essex, although a tad breezy at times

What are the chances for any thunderstorms please for my neck of the woods tonight and tomorrow?

Kind Regards

Dave

Evening all

Another fantastic day here.... The only downside is that it was Monday, and I was stuck in work. On the plus side it feels a hell of a lot better waking up to blue and sunny skies and warmth.

All we've had here today is very high level whispy cloud, not even a sniff of things looking like a storm could kick off. Pretty much the same now, but after reading some of the posts above things may get better later tonight (fingers, arms, legs crossed)

Must say, some great pics have been posted on here today. Keep 'em coming.

Looks like the MCS in France is heading right do Brighton hope it doesn't miss me as I have had no storms yet this year. Should make it over the channel as it is high based

What direction is that headed?

It it were to maintain intensity (and there is enough on the NW lightning archive now to show how many collapse as they leave France) then probably in the direction indicated but definitely a radar watch evening.

possible MCS developing ;) Huge mass of heavy PPN. Pushing northwards our way.

Weather Gods be nice - for once. This is far more exciting then a few snow showers.

For London this is 50/50. I have a terrible feeling that it may glimpse past.

Was thinking this today, looking back at the warm summer in 2013 plus the wet winter, with this luvly plume, we have been transported back to the 1990s.

Nice! There's a couple I wish I'd filmed over the years - three storms in particular, the most recent being last July. That was a cracker! Another in August 1996 (that led to significant flooding in the town as a small stream burst it's banks) and then also the breakdown of the heat wave in July 2006 when I was on holiday in the New Forest.
