Nice little storm rumbling away to my SE. Seen lightning too.

I don't understand how it's not raining. Radar says it should be directly over us.

As I type this, the one I am having now is like drizzle, compared to the downpours I had yesterday! :D

Afternoon. Pretty cloud afternoon here, the showers missing in near enough every direction. A line of drier weather running NW/SE from Huntingdon to Clacton on Sea with me pretty much stuck on that line. Oh well. Maximum temperature of 21C.

Tomorrow looks rather rubbish so fingers crossed that we get some very warm and thundery conditions at the end of the week and into the weekend.

I see heavy rain for my area has now been extended to 22.00. It's hard to tell with the changing direction of the cells where it's going to hit.

Oooh looking at the radar and a bright band of rain echos forming to my north and moving south this way.

Its raining both cats and dogs.

Not seen so much rain in one long go. Norwich was awash, dried out on the A47 within a mile of the big Sainbury's on the way towards Derham, then mayhem as I got to Abbots Ripton a couple of hours later, A good few inches of standing water on the back roads.

Now its chucking it down with the rumble. Slow moving and dangerous for driving.

Stopped raining here now. Was very heavy for a while. Road to Harpenden was getting flooded and I think somebody had tried to drive through it as they were just stopped on a bend...in a 60 :wallbash:

The cells are actually splitting in half and going round me!

Sunny and calm here now. The rain was good for the gardens but has taken all my roses off their stems :-(

I'm getting images of a dust bowl, dead cattle and tumbleweeds! When did you last have rain?

That must have been some heavy downpour to do that to your roses!

Well it is hissing down now, shower came down from the north and the temps have dropped by 3c!

Any real rain was over a month ago, what we've had since then has been very brief, very light stuff that doesn't really wet the ground.

Breeze picked up a bit here a while ago, now gone very dark and brooding in a sense and the wind has dropped too.

Dull, but no rain whatsoever in Braintree (or Thaxted where I work)....looks like a dry and pleasantly warm evening here (all be it no sun)...cant see any storms or torrential downpours this neck of the woods from the radar...keeps missing on either side....not that that is typical in any way...EVER!!!!! :wallbash:  :wallbash: :wallbash:

Hold the phone, a heavy shower moving this way. No thunder or lightning by the looks of it.

Just had quite a large crack of thunder here, wasn't expecting it as it currently looks like the middle of November, dull, grey and rainy.
