Cooling breeze has ended and suddenly it has started to feel humid, the plume of warm air, is making its prescience felt - really warm day today I dread to think how I will cope later in the week :help:

Ice cream, cold drinks and the shade! Still 19c!

Same here :( Could use his experience for the end of the week/weekend.

Well I can put up the fax charts for Friday and Saturday anyway, tomorrow through to Thursday look mostly dry maybe some high cloud from weak frontal systems. Maybe the chance of an isolated shower, those more potent on Thursday if they do occur.

Tuesday - 22-25C

Wednesday - 20-22C near the coasts, 24-27C inland

Thursday - 22-25C near the coasts, 27-30C inland

Friday

Posted Image

Winds south to south easterly, light to moderate in strength

Note the front, western areas could see thundery showers or longer spells of rain

Posted Image

hot or very hot airmass behind the warm front

27-30C maxima, perhaps higher in any areas which see prolonged sunny spells.

Saturday

Posted Image

Light and variable flow. This holds even more potential than Fridays chart  :bomb:

Posted Image

Hot airmass hanging on too. Expect plenty of thundery showers, possibly severe given the conditions.

Temperatures - 24-30C, I think 30C will be the maximum given large amounts of cloud, any clearer slots will probably fill with cloud very quickly so I expect sunshine amounts will be quite low.

Expect these to change over the next few days. I must say that this looks like a proper meaty plume, fingers crossed and hope the heat doesn't get too much for some.

Some sunshine here, looks like the cloud is breaking already. Going to be another warm one.

I expect the explosive zone to be in that warm sector over East Anglia, basically where those troughs are. No reason why we won't witness an epic night lightning show in the next few days either ;) bring it on, I'm ready!

Think the breakdown to storms will be over the weekend, Saturday into Sunday by the looks of it.

a day or two in these setups is a long time and change is inevitable at this stage.

There is a lot of energy potential later in the week so anything could happen :)

Weather warning issued by the Met regarding Saturday....

Still cloudy here. Have no idea how warm it is outside as I haven't been out of the office since 8am

I'm surprised the MetO have gone this early with the warning. However, it is currently 'low' on the risk matrix, so clearly confidence is not too strong at the moment.

Considering that the Risk matrix specifically says it is a low risk at the moment, there's not much more the MetO can do. Based on current models, there does look to be thundery activity on Saturday, but, it is still a while away, and therefore they are explicitly stating that there is a chance that we could miss out.
