I'm really interested to know if it's possible to obtain uk weather charts for July 29th 2013? Had a plough through search engines but no joy.

Reason I ask is that I clearly remember it was a day of several thunderstorms here in wiltshire. Can remember 5 separate storms. I'm no expert but I think they were of the single cell variety, clearly defined and with outstanding thunder/lightning, rain and gusts. What made them special for me, and different from these Spanish plume storms, was that between each cell the skies were clear, so you could see them approaching from quite a distance.

I just wish at the time I'd taken more interest in the events that led to them.

Thank you in advance if anyone is able to help, or would be great if anyone local remembers!

There's archive of weather model output on Meteociel - not broken down into countries at that time.

There's also an archive at Wetterzentrale giving pressure charts, 850hPa temps, 2m temps and precipitation at 6 hour intervals:

Wetterzentrale's lightning archive unfortunately got discontinued sometime around 2007/08.  Netweather has its own lightning archive going back to at least 2010 (based on the Met Office's most up-to-date recording system so should be a lot more reliable than Wetterzentrale's older archive) but you'll need a Netweather Extra (either Full or Lite) subscription.

These are the ones most people are used to: the archived model runs of the high-res GFS include all the convective parameters at initiation of the run so should be an accurate reflection of conditions on the day.

It's a shame meteociel doesn't go back very far. They give the option to go back to 2009 but none of the charts before 2013 actually show up!

For the 'Memory Laners' - I'm one - OFS!

The lightning charts we used to view on WZ are still available on Meteocentre. Current situation below.
