Got a nice chunk of precip developing just South of Derby, we just need to hope that it turns to snow when it gets further north

I wonder if this year's record snow depth of 1cm will be broken?

Yes snowing and laying here.

Took this video last night just when it started snowing. I've got a 4k ultra HD camera so hopefully it captures the snow really well.

I think it looks good, but not sure what it should look like

Guys any idea what that lot is behind the current snow...wales and midlands reporting rain...is it going to catch up and stay as snow ?

At the moment the first front looks like slowing up and the one in the midlands looks to join up and becoming one band all heading this way, looks interesting and prob a few surpizes in the miix, only going by latest obs but is looking good.

Snow turning a bit 'snizzly' here. Even a hint of some melting on the pavement.

Need some heavier stuff to come through so the temperature can drop and we can get some proper laying snow.

Lets hope anyway!

Its not even settled here, that 250ft makes all the difference.

Same! We did miss some of the slightly heavier precipitation though that went just to our West. Plenty of time yet this is just the start

Road covered now, anybody got dewpoint readings.

Regarding precipitation, the band is definitely getting broader over the last 2 hours (width is now the distance from Leeds to Derby pretty much) but the pivot is going to be the latitude of North Yorkshire in the main looking at radar.

Latest GFS has it lasting all through tomorrow with a maximum of 0C for west yorkshire lol.

Come on now let's get in those heavier pulses. Everything getting covered now with a sugar coating of snow.

Well one things for sure, all forecasts were wrong. This front is no where near where it was supposed to be. Its nearly cleared Sheffield and the south lol! Just shows you what can happen.

I want all the PPN in the south to come up now and keep this going. Was supposed to be snowing all night and morning!

The bigger the flakes become, the wetter the snow and the more marginal the situation becomes.
