Everything way to south!

A light covering but wen we i say light i mean it.

Lets hope something crops up over next 3-4 days as has been proven from last night even 7-8 hours out the charts are really struggling.

Well I have to say i'm surprised...there is about 0.5 cm on the road at the front of the house and nothing in the back garden...was snowing fairly heavy for about 15 mins but main band has passed over now....

Wednesday looks very good on 10 day and snow forecast IMBY on 00z run...unlikely to happen though...hope it shows that 6 hours beforehand...

I was surprised to find a coating here of snow on getting up this morning, as the last forecast I'd seen (yesterday morning) had all the precip south of here on the front that was coming in from west to east. There's less than an inch I think (not been outside to check yet), but it's covered everything.

Looking at the radar, it was all from 1 shower at approx 05.30.

Nothing at all here.

However, the precipitation chances on the met office forecast were never higher than 60% anyway.

Next chance on Tuesday then?

I wouldn't be surprised to pick up the odd snow shower at any point this weekend. Seems even 6 hours away they can't establish the track of the precip.

Your right there!

Plus if last nights ended further south would that mean we are in colder air than planned?

They seam alot happier in the mod thread anyway. Its was getting unbearable in there last nite after the 18z came out

So after posting earlier defending the met office forecast, they update giving me an 80% chance of heavy snow at 9am! Can't see where that is going to come from.

Yh that warning has been there since 4 this morning and not even a flake just shows how hard to forecast next week will be

They did last Tuesday. I think though we're done with this one. The Met Office can stop tinkering now for today. We've got Tuesday to start keeping an eye on now.

Just a slight dusting again in Evesham this morning (from shower around 6am) - but that is still 2 days of snowfall already this year and at least is looks/feels like winter!

Tues/Weds remains the main period of interest - and we will not know if that is going to heavy snow, sleet, rain or nothing at all for a few more days.

No fresh snow here although there's still a 20% cover ( 80% on east facing slopes ) from yesterday's snow. All the activity seems to be about 60 miles to the  north although the radar indicates it is making southward progress.

Looks like the main action is just north of the m4, up through Swindon and parts of Oxfordshire. Looks like a fairly potent stream of showers through there.

A few very llight snow showers here - looks like the main band went south of us. Temp -0.9C.

Are we in colder-than-expected air? Does anyone know what the 850s are currently?

Well, not a single flake here either, but am I downhearted....no! It takes more than 3 failed snow events to put a downer on my winter. If you think back to 2009/10, we had a round 8 chances to get snow here and missed all of them by as little as 10 miles.

Missed this snow by 10 miles incidentally :-D

Still got some of yesterday's hail lying around. There's one or two snowflakes on the cars so a tiny bit obviously fell this morning.

Hoping for the cloud to clear so we can have one of those crisp winter afternoons for the dog walk. He's going to love the smells on the frozen ground!
