Took me daughter out on sleigh today....no snow at my house........ but 20mins up the road the western beacons are stunning...still plenty of frozen snow above 350m yet only a couple of miles away you would never know......suggest a drive up to the source of the river Tawe for any depressed snow starved in here...will try and post some pics later

Such a benign period of weather. I sure am missing the winds and rain.

It was very foggy early this morning. I had a shock when we went outside too, pavements were really icy and slippery.

With a mild Azores high building in next week and no realistic signs of anything wintry beyond that, I think the question we now need to seriously consider is "is Winter over?"

Not that it was ever really here to begin with, of course. During the high expectations for the Winter last Autumn I predicted a record breaking mild season. That may not have happened (although it certainly has been above average overall) but it must be among the most snowless on record away from higher ground in the North and Scotland.

I think some of the photos on previous page suggests otherwise. Last winter was much more snowless both locally, over Wales and across the UK as a whole.

Much more falling snow this winter, and a better balance, some very dry sunny and often frosty weather earlier this week and nowhere near as wet.

However much more frustrating than last winter, that goes without saying. :(

Is winter over, maybe but the same was said in 2013, before the heavy snow that effected North Wales.

If winter is over, and it wouldn't surprise me though, and we had the sunny weather of earlier in the week, I wouldn't mind to be honest,

Yay! A bit of rain today. That's cheered me up. :)

How's the cold spell looking for the end of the month? Is it likely/unlikely? I'd love it to change suddenly and for feet of snow to drop from the sky, but wouldn't we all?

Sunshine will cheer me up. Fed up to the back teeth of grey skies now.

No widespread wintry weather is likely I'm afraid, just a resumption of the changeable, slightly milder/slightly colder conditions we saw earlier in the winter.
