Gone quiet here over last 45 mins or so, but we had a crunchy cover of white pellets - yet to see the fluffy snowflakes, if we managed a more organised spell of precipitation then we should loose the pellets - still it is proof how cold uppers are at the moment.

I still expect a number of showers through the night, some homegrown Lakeland ones, tomorrow morning if anything looks prime time for more general widespread heavy snow showers across the region, could be a nasty drive for some.

I was pessimistic lately as it looked like the strat warming wouldnt deliver but if we can just scrape this easterly in and keep niggling away at the Vortex all the way through the atmosphere we might be alright, the good thing IF and its a big IF but if we could completely destroy the vortex by February, it might never be able to recover thus we could be in for another 2013 where we got beltings even in late March.

Last thing this region wants is an easterly....if there is, the death knell will sound for our snow chances......as for tonight, the blackburn snow shield is fully operational.

Hey, I have lived in Manchester for almost 2 years now. Australia for a year before that, and darrn ssarrff in Ipswich before that :) Was hoping for a tad more snow, alas still disappointed... 3 years since I saw proper snow now due to the year in Oz... ha!

Ahh! you were in Ipswich last time I saw you on here haha. Yeah been a while for me even up here in the hills, we can but live in hope :)

An area of the Irish sea has some life in it, would be good if it had more of a west or nw element to it, from my point of view.

Well it's been dry for a while now and no sign of any showers over North Wales so I think that's it for me!
