That is quite some area of very heavy rain over in France, but the worst should slip up the North Sea. Nonetheless, what is heading our way looks like making it a wet afternoon for East Coast counties! Tomorrow looks very interesting with the Met Office talking of potential hail and thunder and gusty winds for our Region.

Raining here in Benfleet. Met up with some friends yesterday in London, the weather was actually pretty decent. Reasonably warm with good sunny spells in the end.

Bit of a dreary day here with loads of cloud, temp is 18C but the infernal wind has moderated and *at least it's dry*

Rain has mostly moved through the North Sea, with some around the Broads and East Norfolk/Suffolk.  I spent the day at the Mid-Norfolk Railway, mostly at Dereham, and the worst we got (at Wymondham) was some drizzle.

There's been hardly any wind at all here, feels strange considering it's normally windy, even when it was raining there was very little wind.

Woken up by torrential rain rattling against the window. Don't mind as I was being chased by a man eating, giant spider, in my dream. Must have something to do with having one crawling on my arm and head when I was cleaning out the shed :help:  Must be some hail too as this shower is making a right racket. 12.2c........Night! :lazy: :lazy:

Woken by the rain also but have to.be up soon anyway for work :-( , tomorrow night through into Tuesday morning could be interesting.

Certainly will feel like Autumn this week, bit of everything on offer.

Yesterday was another poor Sunday we can add to the Summer/Early Autumn chart. I reckon Fridays have been the best day sunwise for past couple months

Either my belly is telling me it's time for a bacon & egg sandwich or there was just a very slight distant rumble of thunder

Here in Tunbridge Wells my rain gauge has already had over an inch since midnight.

Some really short but intense bursts in the last 6 hours.

Had on and off intense rainfall at work in Sevenoaks since I got in. There is plenty of blue sky around though in patches.

Apart from getting soaked on the way to work at 6am, not a lot here, the cloud cleared to leave a dry day with the clouds not very threatening to be honest. Shame considering the action which has taken place not very far from here in reality.

Evening All,

MO are siding towards a colder than average winter interestingly the bulk of the negative anomalies encompasses the current chilly SST in North Atlantic. I sense any N'ly/NW'lies will be more potent this winter thus a greater chance of snow - whilst last year it was painfully on marginal side for the bulk of time.

Apparently a gust of 64mph was recorded on Worthing Pier at 5.30pm this afternoon. Breezy to say the least.

heavy rain last night, as i could hear next doors broken guttering dripping water onto their porch. Other than that the showers knew school had returned and i got rain at 3pm.

Was working at a campsite near Calais 20 years ago, glad I'm not there now! About to take another battering...certainly get their fair bit of wild weather up there.
