Hey anyone know anything about Saturday nights strong winds for the south east? Thanks!

No sorry, not anything of interest  or worrying about especially at this stage.

The strongest gust down here so far today is 52 mph, that was at 8:52 though. Was out in it at the time thinking this is windier than I was expecting, so I don't think it's a miss reading. Not sure what happened the wind has dropped since though.

Morning everyone,

Well another week and another winter month. Models overall continue to show nothing of support for (cold/snow) interest in the reliable and beyond.

The MOD thread is still as ever entertaining to read. Im not sure whats worse, poor model outputs or Frosty continuing to big up Snow for Northern hills as some sort of savior. You have to admire his optimism though even if it is a complete cringe fest to read..

Putting a positive spin on the current weather, I'm actually quite enjoying today. The blustery wind is making the cumulus clouds whizz across the sky and because of the strength of the wind the clouds aren't holding their shape, so it's what I call a ragged sky. There's been lots of different (colour) shades too, and now the late afternoon sun is adding a tinge of pink too.

Also of interest is looking at storm Henry on the European cloud satellite. Terrific 'eye' to the storm. The UK zoom shows some towering cumulus nimbus coming into Scotland and the rainfall radar confirms the potent showers up there. (And dry as a bone down here!).

Remember how after the last cold spell we said we got to wait till Feb at least? We'll jeez that seems a distant memory already.

Its like a broken record that keeps reverting back to Autumn

Dry start with a grey sky and 8.2C. Cloud cover looks thin though, and the rainfall radar suggests the patchy rain moving west to east will stay south of EA. Hopefully the sun will break through later this morning for all of our Region.

Roll on Summer...... shorts and a Tee shirt.  Even if the forecast Spanish plumes and french imports don't materialise at least it's pleasant outside.

I remember that storm, gave me quite a fright coming over lol. Like the way the person taking the vid calls the shelf cloud a wall cloud, then near the end of the vid trains his camera on a wall cloud and says nothing.

Don't worry Amanda, by then your be off on the plane to somewhere warm no doubt ;)

My eye is on Monday at present TBH, but like always things keep getting pushed back and back so won't set anything in concrete incase totally goes off the radar.
