Sunshine levels have been a problem this summer around this area. If you look at the sunshine anomalies for June and July in the link below, note the grey area roughly around the Greater Manchester area and a bit further for both June and July showing below average sunshine for both months.

After a bit of a cloudy morning it's been another stunner of a weekend here. Just a shame I've had to "enjoy" it from my office window!

Just a shame there was never any nice weather to break down here in the first place. Yet another largely dull day. Looks particularly horrendous on the east coast over the next few days.

Yes what a different world Buckingham is to the pennines,we had wind and rain all morning yesterday but at least a drier afternoon but mainly cloudy, today calm but cloudy the entire day only clearing and clear skies in time for sunset !

GFS is a complete horror show from next weekend after some decent summer weather this week, with deep lows, gales and basically November-like weather. But it is showing a decent BH weekend after all that in the S at least....way too far out, of course but a nice thought!

The lawns are relishing that GFS.

The lawns will have months of wind and rain to relish. Can use a sprinkler. Would rather we had summer weather in summer! Gales etc can wait 'til later on in the year.

Had plenty of summery weather so far this summer, long overdue an unsettled spell.

Haha...last few weeks have been good, granted. And so they should be, after that June. Hardly long enough to warrant 70mph winds and rain in August though. I'm sure the grass will cope with a few more weeks of nice weather.

A very average August day today; partly cloudy skies with a temperature of 23c.  Shame that the month is going to take a nosedive in the next 3-4 days and will most likely end up with below average highs and sun hours.

Yep, that's Richmond.  Went for a walk round there today and into St Margarets.

Summer's last grasp was on hold here today. Wasn't the most exciting of days. Cloud lingered. Should brighten up tomorrow for a few days at least looking nice and warm

So nice of the clear blue skies to arrive... on Monday morning :nonono: Looks like the weather deteriorates in time for the weekend before perking up again into the new working week!

Amazing,a summers day has finally arrived, clear skies overnight has given a beautiful start to the day, feeling warm and sunny,as rare as hens teeth here in recent years, why on a day like this would others wish for wind and rain?

I know, another gorgeous day. Best days of summer. You don't need 35c every day!

GFS different today to yesterday's output. This coming weekend still looks utterly vile with strong winds and rain but then the nasty deep lows for next week have disappeared, replaced by high pressure and a warmer flow, perhaps holding on for the BH weekend. That'd be good.
