when the beeb showed all that graphics this morning showing storms to the south of brum at 4pm then moving NW to the NW of brum by 6pm then moving into NW england didn't really take it seriously

got to give them and the euro4 model some credit as i dismissed it completely

heads up for those along the south coast for later.....storms firing over Normandy, not sure if their surface based or elevated, but certainly an area to watch :)

You think those storms to our south could make it here then? Could new cells keep fighting it out, especially now potential energy available is now coming towards a maximum? :)

Think there might be too much of a W'erly steer to the mid-level flow for any existing activity to affect here, sadly. Think you're better positioned.  Unless of course anything else develops in the gap of death to the south and east of here lol.

Wondering if we can ignore those storms to the south and have a better chance of things just developing on top of us instead?

Gone gloomy out there again now.

It is raining here now but not T+L. It looks like the cell over Leicester has died too :(

Sometimes IC or CC lightning doesn't get picked up, and with topographic lift there's still the likelyhood that over the peaks the cell will further intensify.

Jeez, just when I thought it was over, pea to marble sized hail just started falling down!

Looks to be back building a bit despite weak shear aloft.

Definitely doesn't pick up the ic or cc lightning. Witnessed it earlier and didn't correspond on lightning maps

Funny, you think the storms have died...then they suddenly wake up again.

The one south of Stratford has just found a second wind!

BBC revised their forecast for hail but it's brightening up here now and no thunder heard for the past 20 minutes

Brief heavy shower here with huge raindrops. Looks like I should still be watching the Leicester cell :)
