Brave hehe.  Had I walked just a little way down the road here I might have been taken out by that bolt earlier.  Mind you, bit dicey in a high rise lol.

we have just sat on the southern edge of it. Barely rained so pretty safe here outdoors. But being th edge has meant some good views of lightning and the structure of the storm. :)

Convection kicking off here now with several rain shafts in the vicinity, I've no idea whether to stay or go...

Seems like everything wants to avoid here...

I wouldn't bother today William - BBC news 24 and meto's warnings for further south are set up for tomorrow and thursday - we'll get our storms then

It is building, I'm just worried that that area in N Wales will pull SE as the low sinks south.

Still infrequent flashes a few miles to my north, roughly between Great Barr and Walsall. Beacon hill would've been an ideal spot to have watched the lightning. Activity's been going on for well over an hour now.  Another good day for W Mids.

Suns still out. Can see some big cumulous around but not high enough. No convergence zone down here it seems. :(

Another picture of that shower. See me to be developing quite rapidly.

Can't really see it getting better around here unless more sun breaks through.

Unfortunately it's not just that, the majority of the main ingredients that are needed for storms just isn't here today, for our part of the UK.

Oh, just got very cool indeed and quite breezy. Also got quite dark. I guess another shower incoming...

EDIT - And just as I type, down it came.

Yes, but sun amounts also contribute to it, I think tomorrow looks a lot better for this area and I may not have to chase. :)

Yeah, its just not producing down this way today. I'm calling it a bust for my area. Glad other people have had some luck though. That birmingham storm looked really nice and some lovely pictures in this thread today.

EDIT - This showers gone torrential like the others. if it was a bit more unstable down here I recon it would've sparked. As it is its just very heavy rain but still great to watch and we have flooding here.
