Even though I am yet to see a flake so far, this winter has had some very harsh frosts. Another crisp cold morning. :cold:

A little mini ramp ////  :cold-emoji: We maybe seeing the first snow of the winter around this time next-week, if all three of the major models are to be correct.

Lets hope so, with a strong cold Northwesterly flow the Cheshire gap may get a bounding, the N'west of our region seeing heavy snow showers that will feed down into the Midlands.

Not set in stone yet but interesting times ahead for sure :D

Well, we live in hope Dancer, but those blummin charts are always offering rich pickings 7-10 days away!

Always 'jam tomorrow' - grrr

If I fancy an emotional roller coaster ride, I just pop along to skim the Model thread (can't understand the science, but I absolutely get the sentiments, lol)

Liking the look of these charts... always do well off a cold NW flow here jan 2015 was the last time.

Currently cold with frost in the shade. a beautiful winters day..

thickness off NW'ly is the key, we need the dark blues, which this shows, even darker further north, time for higher members to be excited, hopefully some lower down as the chart suggests, light blue colours off NW'ly then rain

Yes! Fizz the rich pickings always seem to be in the GFS FI scenario or the ECM 10 day charts.

ATM the real cold (easterly) may still happen at some point but for now i would be more than happy to see what's on offer in roughly a weeks time.

I don't claim either to be an expert but with all the major models now coming together and the signals showing a decent Northwesterly flow :cold:

At this stage (192h) it don't look bad at all, details may still change! on this run what's on offer for now is cold Northwesterly & snow showers.....

Who's to say...an upgrade or two with the odd 'trough' thrown in the mix (more organised band) it's happened before at very short notice.

Don't lose the faith......it's almost mid winter :cold-emoji: Next out the 12Z  GFS  UKMO ECM   :bomb::cold::whistling::D
