I went down to a minimum of -5.3C last night in my back yard.

The coldest so far this winter.

Was still at -5 at 8:30

Keep the faith folks - we certainly need it!:nonono::sorry::cold:.

im quite pleased with the current models.  all seem to be going for a cold north westerly which im sure will bring snow if the uppers are to be believed    chesire gap streamer would make most on here happy.   Onwards and upwards

Yes! Fizz the rich pickings always seem to be in the GFS FI scenario or the ECM 10 day charts.

ATM the real cold (easterly) may still happen at some point but for now i would be more than happy to see what's on offer in roughly a weeks time.

I don't claim either to be an expert but with all the major models now coming together and the signals showing a decent Northwesterly flow :cold:

At this stage (192h) it don't look bad at all, details may still change! on this run what's on offer for now is cold Northwesterly & snow showers.....

Who's to say...an upgrade or two ....with the odd 'trough' thrown in the mix (more organised band) it's happened before at very short notice.

Don't lose the faith......it's almost mid winter :cold-emoji: Next out the 12Z  GFS  UKMO ECM   :bomb::cold::whistling::D

Just the trend or prospects that we could be looking forward to :cold:

about 516 are the thicknesses required, uppers need to be -8, and winds cannot be too westerly

Certainly looks like going pear shaped again.... i might just relocate the family to Northern Canada and not have to worry about shortwave drama or patterns being moved east or slug high pressure etc etc seriously if the slightest thing can scupper cold in the uk then it bloody well does so.... Rant over... sorry but needed that off my chest before the ECM confirms our doom...

Edit, I have family in OZ Perth, 44c just recently 8) when I speak to my uncle, the first thing he asks me is what's the weather doing back in Brum, over there cloudless skies & temps avg 35c for 5 months, so when I tell them it's going to Snow, they love it

typical Friday 13th? looks like turning milder from the north during the day with rain, still way off yet, just what 06Z suggests

this is the 'snow' window, on 06Z though make most of any flurries early on Friday 13th, definitely possible

Yes, it looks quite good, Sat 14th though looking wet/mild, but FI, ECM is the one I prefer, turns very cold and dry after Saturday's rain, and possible thur eve, and Fri snow risk

Thur at 9pm is when low level snow becomes possible, our best chance is early Fri am, certainly flurries possible, maybe dusting for low levels, could still do with setup just a little further West
