A rain to snow event is always a forecasters nightmare....But snow has been foretasted, what makes you think we are in for a washout tomorrow,

Except wet snow for the south of our region ???

feel we need the setup further north, it is modeled to track too far south, if it can track further north it means snow for us (after rain) and all rain for the South

feel we (especially my location) is too far north for a repeat of this snowfest! this started as rain, but heaviest snow I think I've seen, left a few cms

Argeed, Stafford may not see the snow, for central/southern....Very high chance of seeing a few cm at least.

This may cheer you up Euro 4....Snow for 6am Friday morning :D

From what I can see it look like two separate events tomorrow day time and then tomorrow night. First chance begins late AM with rain possibly turning to snow in the afternoon and then another area of snow overnight. Hope we all at least get some sort of covering out of this.

Watch the radar tomorrow, I really don't think you can say much more than that.  The potential for snow, locally heavy is there alright but its really anyone's guess as to where will be the location(s).  It looks like rain will turn to snow, so it is another question as to whether any falling snow will lead to an accumulation.

Yes, I expect the rain to extend to about Stafford, however the snow I think will fall around Rugby south and eastwards. Although can't rule out a brief period of snow, nothing significant.

Aye, I am niot actually expecting anything more than a few flakes amid the rain here in Evesham tomorrow.    Maybe a slight dusting Friday morning.

But its still the best outlook since 2013!

Only time since then I have seen snow on the ground here was at 1.30am one morrning in 2015 when we had ground cover that had all gone by 6am .....  So most folk missed it.

Watched Midlands today for tomorrows forecast.

Very interesting...

She flashed up the official MET Office charts, which showed the rain and snow further south.....

But she proceeded with the Midlands local forecast charts which had snow right up to Stafford by midday. 'Some of it heavy'    Now which comes first - was the local one just hot off the press?

Just checked my readings and I am down to -1.5 dewpoint already.

Temp is still around 5C but steadily falling.

Think we will be looking out the window tomorrow morning.

1) Any Precip

2) Rain or snow

3) Will it turn to snow?

It was suggested that Warwickshire with all the other southern areas would be affected.

Was not prepared to offer depth due to how quickly it started to snow.

Did offer up to 10cms in the north west in the evening/overnight as the Cheshire gap fires up.

Good luck to everyone.:cold::D

Perhaps that's why

True, but some forecasts - including screen shots I have seen from the BBC - show snow up as far as Birmingham tomorrow afternoon.

But it really is a wait and see.

That's  7pm snapshot isn't it? The front will have moved away to the east by then, you need a 12-4pm one.

So fellow midlanders, the cold set to arrive tomorrow, precipitation is still in the balance as to where exactly it will fall and how much, I would suggest the main area to look for in terms of significant fall will be the front moving southwards on Friday morning, a slight westwards shift could bring a great deal for swathes of the area!!

Bring it on, new LED lamppost has been installed, looking forwards to staring at it for hours and hours... it's been nearly 4 years of no snow! Let's enjoy it while it lasts!!

Regards,

CP

I'm not sure that we'll see much in this part of the world. I feel as if it will be a "close but no cigar" type of situation. It's so hard to predict snow accurately. How many times has there been snow in the forecast for there to be some ingredient missing when they time actually comes for it to fall? It's like thunder in Summer! We haven't had much snow over the last 3-4 years here. Snow that we have had has melted within hours of falling. Don't like to be pessimistic but i just can't get excited anymore.

It's sub-528 for all of the Midlands. The East coast may see rain though.
