Ironic that the SE may see snow and the NW do poorly off a Northwesterly!

That possible snow event for the SE is killing our chances of decent shower activity.

As if that isn't bad enough we then get a band working its way down the East with another possible snow event for the SE while we stay mostly dry.

Looks like Manchester will see snow to the North, South, East and West (Ireland) at some stage.

And after this little cold snap we can all be excited about dry and 8C while the SE get excited about a continental flow and ice days.

I'm not bitter though! :nonono:

To be honest that outlook isn't that much of a surprise, it's basically we've seen so far this winter with the odd frost.

This is what I hate the most about this! They are claiming it is an upgreat anything that increases the chances of snow in the south regardless of what happens for the rest of the country.

It makes for depressing reading having to wade through pages of waffle about increased snow prospects in the Home Counties etc, etc. Best to keep a check on this thread and get a more balanced view on matters at hand here.

One thing models cant predict is minor variations. The difference between convection and no convection based on realtime info. For instance, NMM has no ppn for merseyside or irish sea till early tomorrow morning, yet on the radar there is active convection. Slight changes in temp cant be progged on 3hr models. I am optimistic there will be more than models are progging bit not too sure it will all be snow or even stick but shall see.

Its just a numbers game isnt, there are nearly 10 million ppl in London, ppl are naturally going to be more interested in where they live, so its inevitable that events in the most populated areas create more interest.

Not been on for a while. I'm a little concerned that the precip will be too wet tomorrow for accumulations to form overnight tomorrow.

Shouldn't matter if it's heavy enough, if it's very light then you could very well be right.

Certainly a better Met Office update for here in the Failsworth part of Oldham too. More heavy snow icons. Fingers crossed but things look slightly better than earlier today.

Anybody getting the feeling this is going to be one big damp squib?.

the MOD thread has been re-named , the south east of England  thread..

If the ECM shows a full on Easterly, then the MOD thread will be re-named again to Thames streamer thread .

Yep and as the mildie troll would say............

It'll soon be spring, the daffs and snowdrops coming through, the sound of lawnmowers, drinking coffee in the garden in a tshirt etc etc etc....................
