Just passed through, torrential squally rain, visibility down to a couple hundred of feet.

Same here, the really intense stuff didn't last more than 5 minutes but I'm glad it was the 5 that followed me walking back in to the house.

i'm soaked through with the lighter rain that fell before it.

Not arrived yet winds moderating steadily here though so at the present it I wouldn't class it as a squall line unless they pick up on arrival. Some bright echoes on the line normally though we go straight through the one gap or it dies away before reaching us.

I've just been walking back from the shops in it here in the Aire Valley, and had to shelter in the local car wash! Torrential hail and violent winds...

Skies got a pinkish tinge to it and it isn't the sunset.

Got slammed by the squall-line here, well up to 60-70mph gusts blowing through, small hail hitting the window and could barely see down the end of the road with the PPN.

Very windy albeit dry this fa5r south and east.  Thoughts with those in the firing line.

I've had 42mph down here, which isn't too shabby considering Portland has had 45mph. Although, the wind speed at Portland is 32mph, whereas mine is 20mph. yes.gif

Beginning to fragment as it nears here. Will it survive?

I want to go back!!! No, that's not true, and the sunshine will be waiting when I go back for the New Year! Every Christmas seems to be stormy here in the UK these days, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. That was once fierce squall though...

Has a gust of maybe 60mph around 10:30am this morning, but other than that it's been a bog standard gale here. The wind is beginning to really pick up now though, the worst of Barbara is upon us!!

Coming through here hail heavy rain but no strong winds so not a squall line sadly but not bad even so.

Whatever it throws at us must be an improvement on the conditions of last Christmas.

Beefed up briefly as it left us as per normal but now seems to be decaying steadily as it  moves away.

Amazing that it passed through here without any really strong gusty winds on it. We do mostly miss out on squall lines though probably due to being close to peak district and takes a bit of energy out of it.
